    Description

1997-12 December MESOAMERICANS GREAT PEOPLES National Geographic Map
About 1200 B.C., when the Trojan War was being fought half a world away, an agrarian people raising maize, beans, and squash began to build the first of many independent city-states in Mesoamerica; from what is now Mexico into Honduras and El Salvador. The map-side contains a map of ancient Mesoamerica indicating where ruins can be found, as well as four map insets providing information of the civilization from 2000 B.C. to 1521 A.D. The reverse side shows an artistic rendering of the ancient Mayan city of Palenque, several drawings of artifacts, as well as a timeline and facts about the region.
The National Geographic is known for it's fine maps & detailed information.
