    Description

    original poster:
    The SQUAT Theatre
    Mr. Dead & Mrs. Free
    (1982)
    MINT– Red, black and white.
    22.5" x 17" (56 cm x 44.5 cm)
This legendary avant-garde theatre company originally
from Budapest came to the U.S. in 1976.
This was the third of their productions presented here
    (following,
    Pig, Child, Fire
    and
    Andy Warhol's Last Love*)
We have the poster for that production listed as well.
The Squat Theatre revolutionized the combining of performance
in an environment and utilizing the external “real world”.
We were representative for the group
and this poster has been in our archives for nearly 40 years.
Our archives are part of the permanent special collections at New York University and the University of California-Davis libraries.
